Preamble:

On April 2nd 2009 the EU commission has issued a regulation clarifying and updating the methods allowed for screening in the Avsec arena.

That new regulation has enlarged the scope of use of dogs, which enables users (Airports, Airlines) to use this tool with some real added value in certain scenarios.

This document is aimed at summarizing the fields of screening in which dogs are accepted, under the standards for use of dogs being set by the EU in the EU Avsec doc 5211.
